5-HTP is extracted from the seed of the West African plant Griffonia simplicifolia. This product is specified at a full 300 mg per tablet, in contrast to the 50 to 100 mg that is common, so the intended amount is reached in a single tablet rather than several.

The tablet is built with its nutrient cofactors included: 15 mg of vitamin B6 at 1,071% NRV and 50 mg of vitamin C at 62.5% NRV. Vitamin B6 contributes to normal psychological function and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, and vitamin C contributes to normal psychological function. A small amount of black pepper extract is added to aid absorption.
